このクラブはカリフォルニア、ロサンゼルスから南東約50マイル（80キロ）に位置するシニアコミュニティーの一つ Laguna Woods Village（以下LWVと略します）に住む日本人・日系人達の親睦と交流を目的として設立された会です。
Japanese Cullture Club といいますと、日本文化を特に研究したり振興したりするような会の様に思われるかもしれませんが、そのような会ではありません。もっと肩の張らない親睦とおしゃべりを楽しんでいただく会です。
この会はLWVに公式に登録されたクラブの一つでなので、その規則に従って運営されています。原則としてこの施設の居住者であれば誰でも入会できますが、LWVの施設外部からも若干名入会できます。
基本的には2か月に1回の例会を中心として活動をしています。会員の皆様に確実に会の日を覚えていただくために会はいつも同じ所で同じ期日と時間に行っています。 つまり偶数月（2月、4月、6月、8月、10月、12月）の第一月曜日の午後１時から４時まで LWV 内のクラブハウス６で行っています。 例会は午後の茶話会の趣旨で、皆で持ち寄ったスナックとお茶を楽しみながらしばらく談笑の後にいろいろな催しを行っています。
これらの例会の他に会員の希望や必要に応じて、臨時の会もしばしば行っており、これらは何かを学ぶ為の講習会、音楽会、旅行、ピクニック・お花見とかLWV の外部での集まりも含まれます。
皆さんの意見で楽しい会にしてゆきますから是非会に参加して新しい友達を作り、親しいお友達とのおしゃべりをお楽しみください。

This club was founded with the objective of promoting friendship and social interaction among Japanese and Japanese Americans residing in Laguna Woods Village(LWV), a senior citizens community located about 50 miles southeast of Los Angeles.
While the club name, Japanese Culture Club, might suggest a social gathering that studies and promotes Japanese culture, actually, this is not the case. It is a casual social club for fun and conversation.
As an officially registered club of LWV, it is managed and operated in accordance with Village regulations. In principle, any resident of LWV may join the club. But to a certain extent, non-residents are also accepted.
Basically, our activities involve holding meetings once every two months, at the same site and same time in order to ensure that the members remember the day and time of the meetings. The meetings are held on the first Mondays of the year’s even months (February, April, June, August, October and December) from 1pm to 4pm at Clubhouse 6 in the Village. The meetings will essentially take the form of afternoon tea, with each member bringing snacks to be shared with the others. There may be other activities following the convivial tea parties.
Occasionally, the club may organize special meetings, or get-togethers, according to needs and requests by the members. These special meetings may include seminars, concerts, excursions, picnic, or cherry blossom viewing.
You are all welcome to join the club for a convivial get-together with new and old friends. We also welcome your opinions to make the club an even-more enjoyable place.
